Our Vision & Mission

Seeing Kids as Jesus Does

At NorthLight we think that kids are so important to Jesus. Jesus said to his disciples to “let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14) and so we want to see kids as Jesus does: as important and active members of his church.

As a church we want to partner with parents and with our church family to see kids’ lives transformed through the grace of Jesus Christ. We believe that we all have a role to play to help the kids of our church and community grow in their faith and love of Jesus.

We’ve put together a list of our favourite resources to help you as you disciple your kids and help them develop their faith and learn more about our great God and his Son Jesus.

TOGETHER TIME

Each Sunday at our 10AM services, all children begin in the church hall for ‘Together Time’. Together Time is where our church gathers in the service together whether a kid, youth or adult, to worship Jesus together. This time can include a song, a Bible reading, a Together Talk and a prayer. After Together Time, all the children exit through the church hall to begin their age-tailored programs for the rest.

The safety and care of your children is paramount to us. All our leaders have completed either a Junior or Adults’ Safe Ministry Course, and all leaders over 18 years have a Working With Children Check. Every group is supervised by adult leaders, supported by junior leaders.

There is no need to pre-register your kids.

KIDS CHURCH AT WEST PYMBLE

LITTLE SPARKS (TODDLERS) & NOAH’S GANG (PRESCHOOLERS)

This is our group for children below school age. They begin with organised free-play activities to help children settle and get to know their leaders. Whether through a game, a song, an interactive Bible story, or a craft, this program aims to introduce our kids to their creator, God.

We know some kids have a harder time saying goodbye than others. Our leaders will do their best to encourage the departure process and help you get back to the service.

YEARS K-2 & YEARS 3-6

We have two programs for those in primary school at West Pymble. Our K-2 program meets in the back hall of the church, and our Years 3-6 program meets in a school hall next door to the church. During Kids’ Church, our program for both K-2 and 3-6 includes singing, games, Bible Talks, discussion groups and other fun activities!

SMASH

SMASH is a kids' club jam-packed with action and fun where we learn about Jesus! It is for kids in years 3-6, on Fridays after school, until 5:30 pm (during the school term).

In order for any children to join the program, they need to be registered by a parent. You can do this by filling in the registration form below.

Location: St Matt’s West Pymble

Cost: $8/week or $70/term

WALKING BUS

We provide a walking bus from both Gordon West and West Pymble public schools, supervised by two adults with a current Working With Children Check and Safe Ministry accreditation. JOIN US FOR SANDWICH!

Action-packed fun!!

Sandwich is a week of action-packed fun for kids in Kindy to Year 6 in the winter school holidays.
This year Sandwich will be held from July 15-18th.

Sandwich is run by NorthLight Anglican Church from Tuesday to Friday and provides a range of great activities for your kids each day. As we open the Bible and learn about God’s great story of love for the world through Jesus, we provide a range of activities that engage kids with Jesus, their friends and with other kids from the local community. We have a mix of all-in time and small group activities and allow kids to choose the activities that they would like to do each day in our elective time.

We offer 5 electives per day:

Sport

Art and Craft

Dance

Orienteering

STEM

The highlight of Sandwich each year is the Friday Night Family Celebration where we invite the families of each Sandwich child to have dinner with us and celebrate the final session of Sandwich. It is not to be missed! The Friday Night Celebration starts at 5:30pm and finishes at 7:30pm.
